Introduction to Andrew Birch Photography

This is Andrew's photography and photoshop portfolio and image gallery. This is the best place on the web to view his work... Based in Essex to the north of London UK, Andrew is mostly self-taught and has been involved in the art of photography for the past 6 years. In this relatively short space of time he has followed a steep learning curve and is keen to advance at every opportunity. His photography is very much nature orientated and he loves to be outdoors although ventures towards other genres occasionally and enjoys a new photographic challenge. Andrew's work ranges from ultra-wide angle landscape photography through to macro detail shots and long telephoto and utilizes specialist techniques such as reversed lens macro, ICM (intentional camera movement) and long exposure photography.

"My aim is to capture simple natural beauty and light and shadow play an important role in much of my work. The study of light and shadow assists in creating bold looking contrasty images with rich and vivid colours. To accentuate this 'look', many of my images are converted from RAW files and 'tweaked' using image editing software such as Photoshop... This is where my imagination and creativity take control."

This website will grow and grow and grow, just like a tree, please bookmark and return to see the new green shoots. We hope that you enjoy your visit and would like to thank you for showing an interest. We would also like to say that you are always welcome here and if you like what you see then please take time to pass comment in Andrew's guestbook. Andrew is fortunate enough to know a little bit about web design (HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL) and is able to update this website on a regular basis... We invite you back to see more! ;)
